About Us

Underwater Vision is a PADI Five Star Instructor Development Resort located on a well-maintained and secure beach side property on the island of Utila in the beautiful Caribbean Sea. The purpose of this page is to allow all of our guests, current, past and future, to keep abreast of what is going on with our friends, our business, our guests, the island of Utila and the scuba diving industry. We would like to invite and encourage all those who would like to post a comment or a question, add a photo or a video to please do so because this page is meant for all of our valued clientele. We hope to invite new visitors to our site in order to create interest in the sport of diving and incite people from all over the world to visit the island of Utila. Underwater Vision was created in 1991 as a PADI Resort. However, Hotel Trudy has been hosting visitors since 1974 when only the most hardcore travellers came to this remote and sleepy fishing village in order to scuba dive on the pristine reef that had not yet been explored by many from the outside. Today, Utila is a unique and dynamic place where people from all parts of the globe converge primarily to pay homage to the sport of scuba diving. In 2012 Underwater Vision became a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort and we are very pleased and excited to be able to offer Instructor Development Courses each month to students who have made the decision to continue their professional dive training and to become scuba diving instructors. Hotel Trudy is our hotel located on the same gorgeous and inviting seaside property as Underwater Vision Five Star IDC Resort. Hotel Trudy offers accommodation for all budgets from clean and comfortable dorm rooms, to private rooms and suites all within steps of the sea and the most stunning Caribbean sunsets. At Underwater Vision scuba instruction is what we do and we offer courses from the beginner to the professional levels Our multi-lingual staff are able to offer these courses in a variety of different languages. We employ only the most dedicated and accomplished professionals to staff our team to ensure a safe and memorable experience.
