For just the second time in five years, athletes from throughout the region descended on Roatan for the Bay Islands Triathlon, the premier event on the island’s sports calendar, with the possible exception of the September fishing tournament.

I would like to promote the ACTIMALTA 5K/10K Family Run or Walk in Roatan, on Sat. Feb. 16 at 8:00 am at Parrot Tree. We have put this event for those of you who are not triathletes but who like to stay active. The price is 200 Lempiras (about $15). You can register in person at O6 Stores (Oakley) in San Pedro Sula, Tegus, and Roatan; or also the day of the race by arriving at 7am. This is exactly the same course the triathlon will use, so you will be the first to run it. Gifts from our sponsors, t-shirt, and medal.
