🌟 Congratulations to Johnathan Sun on winning a Bronze Medal at the European University Games! 🌟
This one feels truly special to me because his journey started right here with us in HK at U&I Korea Taekwondo. He was like a son to me — always at the dojang, following us around, often coming straight from school still in his uniform and staying behind until we closed. I meger really saw him do any homework at the dojang, yet somehow he always managed to study, finish his work, but still gotten into one of the top medical schools in the UK, King’s College London!
Since starting Taekwondo at 13, he has poured his heart into training. Later, even after moving to the UK for boarding school and medical studies, he never stopped chasing his love for Taekwondo. He self-taught freestyle poomsae, practiced tirelessly despite the workload of a medical student, and took every opportunity to compete locally and internationally.
Last November, he proudly represented Team Australia at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships right here in Hong Kong. And now, becoming the first U&I student ever to medal overseas in freestyle poomsae, he has made history for our dojang.
I am beyond proud of his achievements, but even more so of his indomitable spirit 💪. His journey is an inspiration to all our students — a reminder that with dedication, discipline, and determination, you can achieve greatness while staying true to what you love.
