It’s always around this time of year when I think about joining the Challenge. After the gluttony from Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Lunar New Year I looked at myself in the mirror one morning and seeing a noticeable gut.
I realized I needed to make a change. I was eating way too much and participating in a few too many free flows without considering the consequences.
I was dragging through my workouts during the first 2 weeks of Challenge because I tried semi keto meal plan, but I was tired & irritable (ask my husband ). Once I switched to well balanced meals with carbs and it worked way better for my body and training needs. Midway towards the end I felt an energy boost and was pushing through a lot better. I could see my body was changing, and many of my friends noticed too!
Honestly, the most difficult part of the Challenge was sticking to the diet on weekends and not succumbing to cravings. I had to change walking routes with my dog so that he wouldn’t drag me to the cookie shop to get his doggie biscuit treat🫣. I managed to find healthier snack alternatives like fruit and protein snacks. I also reminded myself that one cheat meal wouldn’t derail my progress, and that consistency was how I was going to succeed💪🏼
food was delicious and made it easy to stick with the diet. I ordered both Fusion and Chinese menus, and every meal I had tasted great!
** What would you say to others who are interested but hesitating to join the Challenge?**
It was a great way for me to stay focused. Identify the direction of your North Star and remember that you got this!
