Belgian Dragon Boat Team Hong Kong

Dear Paddlers, sport lovers and supporters,

This year, the Dragon Boat Race Festival will take place on Tuesday, 30 of May (Tuen Ng Festival, official holiday). As usual, we would like to register a Mixed Belgian Team for the race in Stanley and once again we are looking for great results and team spirit.

To have a full team we need at least 24 participants who will attend training sessions and the race day. Some paddlers are leaving Hong Kong this year and it's very important that new comers are joining the team to get a full boat ! It's a great experience and Hong Kong is for sure the best place to enjoy this cultural popular heritage.

Sponsoring will not cover all costs, and we ask each participant an individual contribution of HKD 500. This covers the registration fee for the boat, training sessions with a coach and a steersman, cool beverage after each session, the famous Belgian Red Devils T-shirt and last but not least a lot of fun !

Scheduled training sessions, all of them on Saturday :

March 25: 14.15-16.10 - 2 hours
April 01: 15.15-16.10 - 1 hour
April 08: 15.15-16.10 - 1 hour
April 22: 14.15-16.10 - 2 hours
April 29: 14.15-16.10 - 2 hours
May 13: 14.15-16.10 - 2 hours
May 20: 14.15-16.10 - 2 hours
May 30: Race Day

Our first race is tomorrow at 11:18am, Race 23, Line 1 :-)
Between each races, we need mental support and our team has two booths to welcome friends, family and supporters ! We have soft and less soft drinks to share. Booths are located in the red zone 1 on the beach next to the Dragon boat rack. You can use the entry 3 with staircase on Stanley link road.

TIMING, TECHNIQUE AND STRENGH... By far more, synchronisation is key ! No matter how strong you are as an individual, it only helps if you are perfectly in sync with the rest of the boat. Therefore, align your strokes with the person sitting opposite in front of yourself !
