It sounds logical, right? That your coach must be able to perform every skill he teaches you.
Until you actually use your brain. 🧠
Do you think Usain Bolt’s coach runs the 100m in 9.58 seconds? Of course not. If he could, he would be on the track. Not on the sidelines.
It is a stubborn myth in the Calisthenics world. But the best performers are rarely the best coaches.
Why? A performer executes. A coach analyzes.
A top-tier coach looks right through your ego and sees: ❌ Why you are stuck in your progression. ❌ What you are skipping (the boring basics). ❌ When to push harder. ✅ And most importantly: when to hit the brakes to avoid injury.
Don’t get me wrong: A trainer must know the pain. He must master the theory. But ‘understanding’ is not the same as ‘perfect execution’.
Coaching is not about his show. It is about your results.
So stop looking for a circus artist. Start looking for an architect for your body.
