*Bush Turkeys, Baboons and Mavericks victorious in the twentieth Fat Boy 10s Philippines Edition.*
Players and spectators from across the Philippines, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan, the Republic of China (Taiwan), Papua New Guinea, the United States, and South Africa competed in the twenty-second Fat Boy 10s Philippines Edition in Pampanga, a social international rugby tournament hosted by the Pot Bellied Pigs RFC. The tournament ran men's, women's, and youth competitions and raised over HK$260,000 for charitable causes and rugby development.
The Bush Turkeys defeated Clark Jets to win the men's competition, Taipei Baboons won the men’s Plate, and the Mavericks were undefeated on the day, with the Eagles runners-up in the women's competition. International match officials were led by John Findlay, who provided a standard of refereeing widely commended by all involved.
Thanks to Philippine Rugby Football Union Inc, spectators could also watch youth games from Subic, with many travelling for hours to experience them. The Pot Bellied Pigs honorary President, Anson Bailey, thanked long-standing sponsor DHL, along with On The List, NomuPay, and Jollibee, for supporting the club and its activities. The tournament was hosted at the Westfields International School, which enthusiastically supported the event with exceptional facilities and staff who worked tirelessly in very wet conditions to make the day a success.
Patrick Kirby of the executive committee said: "In very heavy conditions, it was pleasing to see such enthusiasm and skill; and the spirit in which the game was played was all world-class. At its very best, Rugby is about bringing together people for tough competition played in the spirit of celebration."
A minute's silence was observed before the Men’s Final for Mr John Bradley, who was instrumental in the establishment of the Clark Jets Rugby Club and passed in August. Ms Judy Xianel Padilla was also recognised for over twenty years of support for the Pot Bellied Pigs.
As part of the Pot Bellied Pigs’ commitment to Community Development, children from Duyan ni Maria Children's Home of Angeles City also came to watch the game and were treated to face painting, ball sports and festivities.

The Fat Boy 10s captures both halves of that, and I think that's why it's so successful. Planning for the 2027 edition of the Fat Boy 10s Hong Kong Edition is already underway.
