The 1st ever-electric car racing team representing
Hong Kong to take part in the Formula SAE🇭🇰 Established in 2015.

The PolyU E-Formula Racing Team (PERT) is a student-led university racing team at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. We are the first team to ever represent Hong Kong in the FSAE competition. Our team joins international Formula Student competition around the world. Our team are comprised of various students from different majors and differing backgrounds. With over 50 engineering members, each engineering (sub) team is responsible for designing, researching, and manufacturing. Leader and team members hold meeting every week to collaborate, discuss progress, and make decision in order to achieve our dream. The team is supported by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Industrial Center. In addition, supports from our past alumni, external experts from the automotive industry, and Formula 1 engineers. Our team involved multi-discipline students, including students from Engineering, Business, and Design field.

🏁 FSEC 2025 - In the Books! 🏁

Three weeks ago, we participated in Formula Student Electric China with our HKF-06E. The competition was an intense and invaluable learning experience. We are so excited to begin the journey of designing our next-generation car!

PERT at F1 in Schools

STEM Racing HK hosted the 2025 HK Development Class competition at United Christian College (Kowloon East), where 18 teams from various Hong Kong secondary schools demonstrated their engineering and innovation skills. Qualifying teams will advance to the Professional Class, with the opportunity to compete in the F1 in Schools international competition.

PERT was honored to be invited by the organizers to introduce Formula racing to students, sharing insights into the connection between F1 in Schools and the Formula SAE program, while also promoting our team.
Our team members set up the exhibition booth with diligence, dedicated to providing detailed information about our initiatives and hoping to inspire future talents to join our team and pursue their interest in motorsport engineering.

As one of the pioneering university Formula teams in Hong Kong, PERT’s participation in this event underscores our commitment to fostering interest in motorsport engineering. We aim to encourage more students to engage in Formula SAE competitions. Join our journey to pursue excellence and achieve your aspirations in motorsport at PolyU!

Over the festive season, all members were able to take a break and enjoy some fun together, organizing two exciting events.

First up was our cherished tradition, the Christmas Party. We indulged in delicious food and engaged in lively Kahoot games. Wonderful gifts were prepared, and congratulations to the lucky winners!

Following the party, our alumni and founder of the team, Mr. Nate Chung, who is now an engineer with the Mercedes-Benz F1 team, returned to share his insights with us. He generously shared his experiences and inspired everyone to pursue their dreams.

With the holiday festivities behind us, we are refocusing our efforts as we prepare for the upcoming FSUK event this summer.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Fong Yat Chi, co-founder and CTO of RC Labs, to our garage! He shared his invaluable experience and insights with our EEE team members, and it was an incredibly fruitful discussion. We’re excited to put these ideas into practice on the racetrack at FSUK! 🏁🔥
