Chong shooting for last eight at RG

Even though her partner got stung by a bee at the start of the third that required a medical timeout, Eudice Chong and Veronika Erjavec's determination never wavered, as they strung together an array of exquisite reflex volleys and a slew of baseline and service return winners, to beat No. 12 seed Storm Hunter/Caty McNally (AUS/USA) 6-2 1-6 6-3 at ROLAND-GARROS.

The HK-Slovenian duo will next face Shuko Aoyama/Liang En-Shuo (JPN/TPE), who earlier knocked out No. 5 seed Jelena Ostapenko/Erin Routliffe (LAT/NZL), for a place in the quarterfinals.

Chong victorious on Grand Slam debut

Despite letting slip a 5-1 lead, Eudice Chong and Viktoria Erjavec conjured the clinching break in the twelfth game of the final set to beat Miyu Kato/Giuliana Olmos (JPN/MEX) 6-3 2-6 7-5 in the opening round of the women's doubles at ROLAND-GARROS. Next up, the HK-Slovenian duo will face No. 12 seed Storm Hunter/Caty McNally (AUS/USA). Kato was the 2023 French Open mixed doubles champion.

5月21日，本會支持香港保護兒童會舉辦百週年紀念慈善高爾夫球日。活動共有108位高爾夫球手參與，籌得逾110萬港元，資助其幼兒教育及弱勢兒童服務計劃。
家庭是本會「清水灣・走入社群」計劃的重要支柱之一。我們致力支持幼兒福祉，並為面對困難的家庭提供資源，幫助孩子為未來建立更穩固的基礎。

We were pleased to support the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children’s Centenary Charity Golf Day on 21 May. With 108 golfers taking part, the event raised over HK$1.1 million to support HKSPC’s early childhood education and well-being programmes for underprivileged children in Hong Kong.
As family is a key pillar of our Community Outreach and Charity Programme, we are committed to supporting early childhood well-being and providing resources to families facing hardship, helping children build a stronger foundation for the future.

Kudos to Eudice, our Tennis Ambassador!

Not only is Eudice Chong the first player from Hong Kong to capture a WTA Tour doubles title, she is also the only other to rank inside the world's top 100 in women's doubles since Patricia Hy set the mark almost 40 years ago.

張瑋桓不僅是第一位贏得 WTA 雙打冠軍，她也是希麗敏近 40 年前創下紀錄以來唯一一位能躋身女子雙打世界排名前 100 位的香港球手。

Huge congrats to our Tennis Ambassador Eudice Chong!

Chong claims unprecedented title

After finishing runners-up three times on tour, Eudice Chong finally cemented her position as the first player from Hong Kong to capture a WTA doubles title when she partnered Magali Kempen of Belgium to lift the 250 Morocco Open.

Trailing 5-4 in the third set super-tiebreak, the HK-Belgian duo snatched the next five points on the trot with two huge returns from Kempen and a slew of probing crosscourt forehands by Chong that kept their opponents at bay.

They jumped out to a whopping 9-5 lead following an ace by Kempen before settling for a 6-3 2-6 [10-6] victory against top-seeded Aldila Sutjiadi/Vera Zvonareva.

"I had three WTA 250 finals under my belt, and I knew I just had to get over this hump to make the next big jump. Now, my goal is to push for the 500s and 1000s, and prove that there is where I belong," said Chong.

"We just stayed really calm and continued to play our game even after we lost the second set," she added.

「我已經三次打入 250 級別的決賽，我知道我必須突破這一關才能繼續進步。現在，我的目標是衝擊 500 級別和 1000 級別的賽事，證明我有能力在那裡立足。即使輸掉了第二盤，我們也能保持冷靜，繼續按照自己的節奏拼搏到底，」她補充道。

本會於5月12日第六度與香港救助兒童會合作舉辦慈善高爾夫球活動。清水灣與香港救助兒童會合作始於2018年。
家庭是本會「清水灣‧走入社群」計劃的支柱之一。我們深信，要為小朋友建構一個安全、關愛的環境，愛與尊重、還有責任，皆屬缺一不可。當天籌得約190萬港元，將悉數撥捐香港救助兒童會「從心所育」計劃，推廣父母與子女間的非暴力溝通及正向管教。
特別嗚謝當日出席活動的112位高球手及贊助商─各位的參與、鼓勵以及慷慨支持，發揮了積極的作用。

We held a charity golf event in collaboration with Save the Children Hong Kong on 12 May. This was the 6th collaboration with the charity since 2018.
Family is one of the pillars under our Community Outreach and Charity Programme. We deeply value love, respect, and responsibility, as these are essential in creating a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for every child. With HK$1.9 million raised, Save the Children Hong Kong will be able to support its Heart to Heart Positive Parenting Programme for Preventing Child Abuse, which aims to promote non-violent communication between parents and children, as well as positive parenting practices.
