Our heavy hitter Wendel Babasol (4-2) is set to face Japanese amateur standout Sota Nakayama (debut) of Teiken Gym in a 6-round super bantamweight bout at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Nakayama, the gold medalist at the 2023 All-Japan Boxing Championship, is the eldest of the famous “Nakayama Three Brothers.”

Babasol aims to bounce back following a decision loss to Salvador Gajana last May.

This challenge will be far from easy. Raymond fought to two consecutive draws in his last two outings in the Philippines, highlighting the immense pressure of facing tough home-court judging. Heading back into Philippine territory, he faces experienced local fighter Melvin Mananquil (9-10-4).
