GSIS Sport Support Group

GSIS Sport Support Group Sport Support Group is aimed at encouraging students to become more involved in school sports events and to show support to our school teams! See you soon!

SSG is also the number one spot for results, pictures and highlights! Sport Support Group

Sport Support Group is aimed at encouraging students to become more involved in school sports events and to show support to our school teams! We believe showing school spirit in sporting events is of the utmost importance because it can completely change the outcome of an event and raise morale for our GSIS

athletes. All GSIS students from Y7/K6 to Y13/K12 are welcome to join! What are we going to be doing:

1.Get more people involved to show support and school spirit and to encourage students to participate and/or attend different events. What can you do as a member of Sport Support? Spread the word and encourage your friends to attend more events!

2. Create a Sports Video showing all the highlights of every sport during each term. We will be collaborating with the GSIS Film Crew for this project. Film different sporting events and put your video editing skills to the test!

3. Sports Photoshoots for every Sports Team- pictures will be posted on Facebook, TV screens at school, wall outside the Sports Hall etc. Help out with the Photoshoots, be a photographer, edit the photos so everybody looks good!

4. Create a school slogan or chant! Slogan/Chant contest- winner will get to say they wrote the school slogan and will be awarded with a prize!

5. Design a school mascot and try to get it approved by the Principal. Once approved, we can print the design on to all the sports jerseys. Mascot Design Contest- winner will get to say they designed the school mascot and will be awarded with a prize!

6. All Sport Support Group Members will get a free SSG T-Shirt! (in due time)

Congrats to our ball hockey tram, who placed third in the ISSFHK league. Having started out as a losing team, they came back in the end as the underdogs of the league. I think we should give them a round of applause for successfully beating last years champions, ICS. Good job to our goalie, Chris JRDB, who saved countless goals despite this game being his first at the position; Brian, who scored the winning goal; Tristan, who assisted in the goal that allowed us to be tied 1-1; and the rest of the team who strived to both score goals and defend. A great ending to the season!

Oh, and don't forget to wish our Sports Support Group's head, Ronald, a "Get Well Soon!" Without his participation, there might have been many more goals scored against us. We're proud of you, Ronnie! :)

A bit late, but Merry Christmas, everyone! Hope you're all enjoying your holidays skiing, snowboarding, studying, or sleeping etc.
