Buzz Dragonboating Society - 霸士龍 Buzz Dragon Boat Team, Hong Kong. Community | Competition | Culture Buzz Dragon Boating Society was founded in 2001. Our members come from every walk of life.

After 5 years of competing with the Canadian Club team, about 10 core members decided to start their own Dragon Boat team. We named the team, “Buzz”, in memory of Scott Buzby, a fellow Canadian Club paddler, who passed away in October of 2000.

‘Buzz’ members are men and women from different ethnic and professional backgrounds. Many
have Master’s level degrees or higher, multi-lingual
speakers, and work for international, local and
self-established companies.

Another epic race day in our teak boat at the Tai Tam Invitational Race!

The atmosphere is always incredible — from the annual tradition of collecting our fisherman flag to splashing water and sharing the fun with everyone around us.

The eye-dotting ceremony, or “Awakening the Dragon,” marked the official start, the flags to honour each team and the effort it takes to bring these beautiful teak boats to the race.

Water splashing, a tradition to wash away bad luck and share blessings of good fortune, made the day even more special.
