本港球星許龍一在摩洛哥舉行、總獎金達200萬美元的「國際系列賽摩洛哥站」中，憑藉在第18洞（五桿洞）成功抓鳥，以1桿之差力壓兩屆「美國大師賽」冠軍屈臣（Bubba Watson）勇奪冠軍。
對於這位中國香港球星來說，這充滿情感的一天讓他進帳360,000美元獎金，並使他在亞巡賽獎金榜排名躍升至第2位，其國際系列賽排名亦升至第3位。
許龍一表示：「我感到非常興奮。能與屈臣同場競技簡直就像夢想成真。我記得小時候看過他贏得兩屆大師賽。今天能與他激戰5小時，我內心的小孩簡直興奮得跳了起來。」
許龍一在皇家高爾夫達累斯薩拉姆紅場（Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, Red Course）以低於標準桿19桿的273（68-69-68-68）桿完成，擊敗了這位美國名將。現年25歲的許龍一目前已在亞巡賽收穫兩場勝利 —— 此前他在2023年香港哥爾夫球會舉辦的「國際都會高爾夫球錦標賽」實現突破。在來到摩洛哥之前，他才剛於上週的日巡賽「Mori Building盃」戰至附加洞賽落敗；然而，他還是從失落中調整過來。
他說：「這一年很漫長，經歷了許多艱辛和挫折。經歷過這一切，我覺得自己真的成長了。我意識到，我所投入的努力遠比結果重要。高爾夫球是一項有趣的運動，真的需要妥協，我很幸運過去幾週站在了幸運的一方。我對這項運動本身、身邊的人以及所有讓這一切成為可能的人，懷有深深的感激之情。」
Taichi Kho has claimed the US$2 million International Series Morocco presented by Visit Morocco overnight with a birdie on the par-five 18th to hold off two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson.
It was a day packed with emotion for the Hong Kong star, who pocketed US$360,000 for the victory, one that has seen him climb to number two in the Asian Tour’s Order of Merit and to number three in The International Series Ranking.
“I was so pumped up on the golf course. I think playing with Bubba is like a dream come true. I remember watching him win two Masters when I was a little kid. For me to be going neck and neck with him for five hours today, the child inside me was jumping up and down,” said Kho.
Kho signed off on a 19-under-par 273 (68-69 -68-68) at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam (Red Course) to beat the American by a stroke. The 25-year-old now has two wins on the Asian Tour – after his breakthrough at the World City Championship presented by Hong Kong Golf Club in 2023 – and arrived in Morocco dusting himself off after the disappointment of missing out in a playoff for the previous week’s BMW Tour Championship Mori Building Cup on the Japan Tour.
“It’s been a long year. It’s had a lot of hardships and a bit of adversity. Through it all, I think I really grew as a person. I realised the work I put in surpasses any results,” he said. “Golf’s a funny game. It really gives and takes, and I was very fortunate the last couple of weeks to be on the good side of it. I just have a lot of gratitude towards the game itself, the people around me, the people who make it possible.”
