Golf Association of Hong Kong, China Welcome to the Hong Kong Golf Association -- governing, promoting and growing golf in HK since 1968.

The HKGA's golfing events total more than 30 amateur tournaments each year -- for participants including men and women; seniors and juniors; locals and internationals; and elite and recreationall golfers alike. The HKGA is also responsible for staging the annual Hong Kong Open which attracts the world's top professional golfers and a global television audience. Played every year since 1958, the Open is Hong Kong's oldest professional sporting event. Past winners include Tom Watson, Greg Norman, Bernhard Langer and Rory McIlroy.

Ethan Tian Jun will become the first player from Hong Kong, China to play in the Junior Presidents Cup, when the tournament tees off on Sunday (September 20).

Fresh from being part of the city’s history-making Asia-Pacific Amateur Team Championship-winning squad, Tian will be part of a 12-strong International team set to take on the United States over two days at the Medinah Country Club, just outside of Chicago.

“I am really excited to be able to participate in such a big tournament, honored to be in the international team, and looking forward to meeting and playing with the best junior players from the US and the non-Europe regions,” said Tian. “My expectations are that I will meet the best junior players, enjoy playing at Medinah, and play the best that I can - and also hopefully put some yellow on the board for my team!”

Sabrina Wong has claimed her first international amateur women’s open title with a two-shot victory at the historic French International Ladies’ Championship - De Rothschild Trophy.

The 14-year-old signed for a 10-under-par 206 (66-67-73), with two back-nine birdies keeping the pack at bay at Golf de Morfontaine, north of Paris. That saw Wong seal a tournament that dates back to 1962, making it the oldest international ladies’ amateur stroke play event in Europe.

The combination of Shen, William Tang, Kim Joonho and Timothy Chan rose to the occasion this week across the New Course, combining for 32-under par that left the SAR four clear of Thailand. Shen led from the front and claimed the individual prize with a 17-under 263 (67-64-66-66) that left him three clear of the chasing pack, with Kim finishing third.

It’s been a huge month for the SAR, with an historic Asia-Pacific Amateur Team Championship victory already in the bag, and Shen has played his part in both triumphs.

“I am really happy and excited right now,” said Shen. “This is something I couldn‘t do two years ago. Two years ago, I was just watching others compete for the championship. But this time, I finally managed to win the individual title myself, and on top of that, win the team championship together with Joonho, Timothy, and William. I am truly so happy!”

The SAR’s Santi Cup team (Felicia Hughes, Zabby Leung and Vivianne Kan) finished third, with a fourth for Hughes, while the Lion City Cup squad of Ricardo Fu, Joseph Cao and Lander Lee finished second on countback behind Thailand with Fu third in the individual competition. The Thais also claimed the Kartini Cup.

Hong Kong, China will take a six-shot lead into the final round of the Putra Cup after Jeffrey Shen Wang Ngai led the way with a four-under-par 66 on day three of the Southeast Asian Amateur Golf Team Championships, being played at The Hong Kong Golf Club.

Shen now sits at 13-under 197 (67-64-66) with 18 to play, five shots clear of the pack, while the SAR (Shen, William Tang, Kim Joonho, Timothy Chan) sit half-a-dozen to the good on 22-under.

In the Santi Cup, there was a three-under 69 from Felicia Hughes that left her T3 and Hong Kong, China outright third after three rounds. Hughes is on 12-under 204 (69-66-69), two shots off Thailand’s Chonpansa Tawinsang, while the SAR (Hughes, Zabby Leung, Vivianne Kan) are eight off the Thais.

Thailand also continue to lead the Lion City Cup (with the SAR second) and the Kartini Cup heading into the final day’s play.

Shen now sits at nine-under 131 (67-64) at the halfway mark, four shots clear of the pack, while the SAR (Shen, William Tang, Kim Joonho, Timothy Chan) sit eight clear on 18-under.
