The Hong Kong Junior Squad’s Darren Zhou has qualified for the Notah Begay III Junior National Golf Championship in the United States after beating a Central Florida Regional field that included no less a talent than the great Tiger Woods’ son Charlie.
Zhou shot a final-round six-under-par 66 to finish at seven-under 137 (71-66) in the Boys 12-13 tournament at the Mission Inn Resort in El Campeon to take one of the two spots in the National Championship field that were up for grabs. The championship will be held from November 7-9 at the Koasati Pines at Coushatta course in Kinder, Louisiana.
The second qualifying spot went to American Lawson Ford on five-under 139 (71-68), while the young Charlie Woods finished tied for fourth on four-over 148 (80-68) - after having his father Tiger carrying his bag.
