NEW SIGNING: Kohan James Herbert

Openside flanker. Australian, English and Maori, and he arrives with New Zealand Under 20s, Bay of Plenty in the NPC, the Queensland Reds and Bond University behind him.

Tough, energetic and exciting is how he puts it, and he wants people to know he works hard around the field. Fair enough, that is the job description for a seven.

He is here for a new style of play, a country he has never seen, new friendships, and playing overseas alongside his partner.

Top of his Hong Kong list is a tour of Lori Cramer’s favourite pubs. That is now two players waiting on Lori Cramer .

Aggressive, competitive and unpredictable, in his own words. He wants fast rugby and he loves a jackie turnover, which is a polite way of saying he intends to be a nuisance at the breakdown.

Top of his Hong Kong list is Lan Kwai Fong. Something tells us he will find it without much help.

Second row. British, and she arrives with Harlequins, DMP Sharks and Tynedale behind her in England, then Bond and the Queensland Reds in Australia.

She describes her game as physical, uncoordinated and loud, and herself as relentless. We will take all four.

She is here for the city and the dim sum. Top of the Hong Kong list is a junk party, which should not take long to sort.

Flyhalf. Australian, by way of University of Queensland and Green Island in Dunedin.

He is here to test himself in a new environment, meet new teammates and find out what rugby in Hong Kong is about. His game is instinctive, composed and creative: play with confidence, take it on, create opportunities for the players around him.

First job off the pitch is finding Hong Kong’s best beach. Recommendations in the comments.

Backrow, straight from Noosa Dolphins via UQ Red Heavies, Cheltenham Tigers and Gwalia Lightning. You’ll hear her before you see her, physical, direct, loud, exactly how she plays.

She’s joining for the community as much as the rugby, new faces, a new environment, and room to keep growing as a player.
