17 year old Geno and Microsense brand ambassador GM Leon Luke Mendonca just won the 86th edition of the prestigious Tata Steel Chess Challengers Tournament held between the 13th to the 28th of January 2024 in Wajk aan zee, Netherlands.
This tournament also referred to as 'The Wimbledon of Chess' has by far been Leon's most prestigious and cherished victory after his Triumph at the Centenary Baku Open 2023!

Leon and his family would like to thank The Almighty for these blessings. Leon Luke Mendonca shares first place at World Junior 2022 Open

Leonkingof64 scored 8/11 and tied for the first place with four more players. He was placed fifth according to tie-breaks.

The talented youngster defeated the eventual Silver medalist, GM Adam Kozak (HUN) in the final round and drew with the Bronze winner IM Nikolozi Kacharava (GEO) in the penultimate round. He also gained 5.3 Elo rating points.

Congratulations to Leon, his family and his team for a fantastic performance. He would certainly like to carry this momentum at Asian Continental Open starting this Wednesday.
