Have been asking myself this question everyday for the past 2 years: “What kind of yoga teacher I want to become?”
Scrolling through the internet it’s full of pretty skinny yoga teacher doing different difficult asanas, selling handstand workshop , backbend workshop, meanwhile there’s inside flow and all sorts of “new” yoga style coming up……
It’s hard to catch up with , both mentally and physically.
Meanwhile I shifted from teaching mainstream aerial & vinyasa , into Mindfulness Stretching Class and Modified Ashtanga Class with some mobility & stability from head to toe.
Back to more boring, non fancy ,basic stuff.
Had a group of lovely students whom are “neglected” by the normal yoga class on the market, consistently attending for 2 years and counting.💖
Seeing their smiles on faces with regained body control , more open and resilient yet loving mind space for self, connection with their breathe & life, I realised…
“I want to be a yoga teacher who creates space for students to unite with themselves physically, mentally & spiritually and not being constrained in formality”
Not constraining with how studio looks like, what type of yoga I am teaching , I know I am still sharing yoga.
Calm and peace not coming from pretty studio but the inside of participants instead.
Namaste,
Vivian
