Reached my PR of 185 pounds, 4 reps. Working towards 200 pounds.

I'm trying to get the message to all women that you should train to get stronger, if your goals are losing body fat and building body definitions.

🍑 Women typically don’t gain size from strength training, because compared to men, women have 10 to 30 times less of the hormones that cause muscle hypertrophy. You will, however, develop muscle tone and definition. This is a bonus!!

Number one rule, TRAIN TO GET STRONGER!!

🍑 Women typically don’t gain size from strength training, because compared to men, women have 10 to 30 times less of the hormones that cause muscle hypertrophy. You will, however, develop muscle TONE and DEFINITION. This is a bonus!

And remember 🏃 Cardio can cause your body to try and preserve fat (which your body views as a precious resource) by using muscle for fuel instead. This means that while all that cardio will help you lose a little weight, your fat to muscle ratio could remain unchanged and, as a result, you just end up skinny-fat instead of improving muscle tone.

For me, being out of shape is harder than working out 😅

This isn't to say that working out isn't hard. It is!!

It's hard to find the time and it's hard to get motivated to show up.

Sometimes you'll be able to crush it in the gym , and other times you just need to move ... to do something.

💣 IG will lead you to believe that if you aren't going all out all of the time then you may as well not show up but this isn't the case.

Fitness is a lifetime THING, not a one - and - done dumb diet or damaging detox .

1️⃣ It's the CONSISTENCY that's important and , when you are consistent, your life will get better!!

I got asked a lot from my clients on what is the best exercise🏃 to do? Or What is the best diet? 🍳

Actually what we eat or exercise is only one "ingredient" needed to make a healthy human!!

We need REAL, WHOLE FOODS , FRESH FOODS, but we also need things like MOVEMENT , CONNECTION , MEANING, and PURPOSE.

Feeling well means feeling whole, balanced, vibrant, and alive. And there are many moving pieces that we can tap into to feel empowered in our own wellness journey.

The key focus areas that I always recommend my clients to pay attention to are COMMUNITY, SPIRIT, EMOTIONAL HEALTH, RELATIONSHIPS, NUTRITION, MOVEMENT, PURPOSE, and MINDSET.

Within these areas, we can have a dramatic influence on our immediate and future health. There is so much you can do to help yourself to prevent, treat, and heal disease no matter what situation you're in.

You have the power to change your health and these areas are where it all BEGINS 😉
