Not even the rain could keep our sailors ashore for Race 8 of the St. James’s Place Sunset Series 2026. Despite the wet conditions throughout the day, 48 boats took to the water and enjoyed another competitive evening of racing.

Today, 60 young people and their families joined us for a ‘Charity Sailing Day for Tai Po Youth and Family’ organised by the RHKYC Charity Foundation.

We provided a two hour sailing experience, followed by a fun Q&A, quizzes and a buffet lunch with games. 🥳 Prizes were prepared for the game winners, and souvenirs were given to everyone.

Although the weather wasn’t perfect, the children and families remained excited and happy throughout the day — and we were equally delighted to receive a hand drawn gift from the children. 🎁💙

Many of those 60 young people had never boarded a sailboat before, which made the day a genuinely valuable first experience.

Huge thanks to our Club members Rex Au Yeung, William Chu, Alfred Lau, Eddy Lee, Sunny Leung, Ray So and Alex Yu for helping to guide the children and make the experience so special. 🙌⛵

10 Years of Sustainability, One New Chapter. ♻️⛵

To mark a decade of saying goodbye to single-use plastic bottles, bags and straws, the Club continues its commitment to a more sustainable future.

Led by the Club Sustainability Sub-Committee and in collaboration with UPCC, retired sails are given a second life as handcrafted everyday bags, keeping valuable materials out of landfill while creating meaningful social impact.

Summer Update from the Sharks Squad!🌞

Lots has been happening this summer, and our Sharks sailors have been working incredibly hard. Here's the latest:

📍 2026 Optimist European Championship, Poland
The European Championship started today and will run until 31 July.
Three Optimist sailors are representing Hong Kong: Decimus Chan, Scarlet Tao, and Qiheng Liu.

🟦 Optimist Team Heading to Lake Garda
Following the championship, the team will travel to Lake Garda on 1 August for training and will compete in the Trofeo Simone Lombardi from 4 to 6 August.

⚡ 29er Worlds Completed
Our 29er team has completed the 29er World Championship and is now preparing for the 29er European Championship in the Czech Republic from 1 to 8 August under the guidance of Coach John Tse.

🚤 ILCA training at Lake Garda
The ILCA teams have just finished two weeks of training at Lake Garda.

We're proud to see our sailors continuously pushing their limits and making progress every day. 💪🏽✨
