It is with great pride, deep respect, and heartfelt appreciation that we announce the 2026 FITA Hall of Fame Inductees.

These ten extraordinary individuals have each made a lasting impact on the world of martial arts through their dedication, skill, leadership, and lifelong commitment to teaching, inspiring, and paving the way for others. Their contributions span generations, styles, systems, and communities, but they all share one powerful legacy: they have helped shape martial arts into something greater than technique alone.

They have built schools, trained champions, protected communities, inspired students, entertained audiences, and carried forward the values of discipline, courage, honor, and perseverance.

This year, we are especially honored to recognize both living legends and those we remember with love and gratitude for a lifetime of achievement and influence.

Todos quieren la cinta / Pocos quieren el proceso.

*The belt is cheap. The price is everything else.*
Everyone starts martial arts for the same reason — respect, status, the confidence that comes with a black belt tied around your waist. It’s a symbol people recognize instantly. What they don’t see are the thousands of hours that make it mean something.

The real journey is unglamorous and unmarketable. It’s early mornings when you’d rather sleep. It’s drilling the same technique until your hands bleed and your ego begs you to quit. It’s injuries that set you back months, failures that humiliate you in front of the dojo, and the quiet decision to show up anyway. Years of practice strip away the fantasy that mastery is fast, easy, or given to you.

That’s why the crowd runs toward the belt, but the path behind it stays empty. The black belt isn’t a reward you chase. It’s a byproduct of falling in love with a process most people won’t tolerate. You don’t earn it when you get it. You earn it every time you choose the stairs nobody else wants to climb.

🥊 Tuvimos la oportunidad de tener al Maestro David Hernández como instructor externo, quien nos visitó desde la academia bajo la dirección del Maestro Daniel Maldonado. Durante su visita pudo observar nuestra metodología de entrenamiento, nuestro examen técnico y nuestras sesiones de sparring, compartiéndonos su perspectiva sobre el trabajo que realizamos en Krav Maga Academy.

💬 Opinión propia:

Me gustó mucho la forma en que se trabajaron los ejercicios, porque se nota que tienen aplicación real y no se quedan solo en la teoría. Se ve claramente que los alumnos entrenan tanto en lo físico como en lo psicológico, y eso marca la diferencia.

El sensei mostró una gran flexibilidad para adaptarse a las situaciones y transmitir su disciplina de manera efectiva. La dureza física de los alumnos quedó evidente en el sparring, donde demostraron resistencia y carácter.

También me llamó la atención el compañerismo y la buena comunicación entre maestro y alumnos, algo que fortalece el aprendizaje y el ambiente de respeto.

Agradezco mucho la invitación, porque además de observar, aprendí cosas que fueron muy enriquecedoras para mí.

Creemos firmemente que el intercambio de experiencias entre diferentes disciplinas fortalece a toda la comunidad marcial y nos ayuda a seguir creciendo como instructores y practicantes.
