A message from Jem! Check out her new blog for kids! 💙

“Hi all, as I have some extra time on my hands right now I thought I would give myself a project and I have set up a little blog about marine life for kids… my aim is to try and inspire kids to care about the ocean, and in turn, hope they grow up wanting to protect it. I thought it could also be something interesting for them to learn about during lockdown!
So if you have kids take a look! I have started it off with a few posts about sharks but will be adding more themes as I go. You can also subscribe to get notifications when I add more.

If you own an Apeks regulator, check this out!

Burst o-ring right before your dive? Forgotten your save-a-dive kit?
Did you know that every Apeks first stage has a spare o-ring tucked away on the dust cap? Hopefully you'll never need it, but it's nice to know it's there.
The o-ring is changed at every authorised Apeks service - so it's always fresh and ready to dive.

It's been a while since my last post, but now I'm back in my element in a place I love doing what I love, been diving in Cayos Cochinos and lionfish hunting for the weekend. Helped the reef by removing 84 lionfish!

Find the SOB!
We have been noticing a few cases of Sponge Orange Band (SOB) around the island. This disease attacks the oldest living animals out there on our reefs. We are actively trying to document this phenomenon and register its impacts on our reefs. If you're a diver with a camera around Utila and notice affected sponges, please take a picture and then send it to us at: [email protected] with the header "SOB Utila 2018" and the dive site where it was found. Please send the date when the picture was taken as well.
Help us save our reefs!

Estamos intentando documentar este fenómeno y registrar su impacto en nuestros arrecifes.
