It must not be just your mind or even your body that is doing the asana. You must be in it. You must do the asana with your soul. How can you do an asana with your soul? We can only do it with the organ of the body that is closest to the soul -the heart- . So, a virtuous asana is done from the heart and not from the head. Then you are not just doing it, but you are in it. Work from your heart, not your brain, to create harmony ~BKS IYENGAR ^

Do not dilute the quality of your yoga to win and keep students. Let them come and go freely and do not oversell with false claims or the emotive suggestion that any person "needs" yoga or anything at all. It is far more satisfying to teach a few sincere friends. The intimacy in teaching is a great pleasure, far more enjoyable than generating money! It is better to go deep with a small number of good people than produce and sell a bland, standardized product that attempts to please many. It is early days of yoga in the West and we are moving on from the misinformation that dominated yoga until recently. You may find that there is a big response as the world realizes what actually is on offer in yoga. To truly care and teach in the traditional way, that helps an individual negotiate his or her peace, is the best thing you can do in this suffering world.
