The sea turtle (Caretta caretta) as seen in village earlier this week during our trip. The average loggerhead measures around 90 cm (35 in) in carapace length when fully grown. The adult loggerhead sea turtle weighs approximately 135 kg (298 lb), with the largest specimens weighing about 200 kg (440 lb). The one you see in this video is definitely an adult.

After quite a long time focusing on Crete, I’m planning something different for next year: a sea kayaking expedition outside of Crete.
