Season opening means more than just wind, waves and first sessions under the sun.
This year, it’s about responsibility.
For more than a decade, our surfstation has been connected to people who live for the ocean — windsurfers, kiters and watersports enthusiasts who call this place home. Together, on the coast of the eastern Mediterranean, we launched a new chapter of awareness and action — inspired by The Ocean Cleanup.
After the winter storms, huge amounts of plastic washed up on our beach. Bottles, ropes, broken fishing gear and countless small fragments carried by the sea. So together with our community, we cleaned the coastline piece by piece.
At the same time, we installed eco-friendly awareness banners around the station to explain the reality of plastic pollution in our oceans: ghost nets trapping marine life, microplastics entering the food chain and massive waste zones like the Great Pacific Garbage Patch growing year after year.
The ocean gives us everything — wind, freedom, energy and unforgettable moments.
Protecting it is not optional.
This season, don’t just ride the wind.
Be part of the change.
Pick up plastic.
Respect the water.
Leave every beach better than you found it.
