Airbnb's market cap of $86,5 billion on the very first day of their trading reached that of Booking, which has a valuation of more than $86 billion.
At the same time they both are far beyond Expedia, (market cap of just more than $18 billion) and that of the largest hotel chains as well, such as Marriott and Hilton ($42 billion and $29 billion, respectively).

Airbnb opened at $146 per share on its first day of trading on Thursday, more than doubling the $68 per share price set for its IPO the day before.
