Today at 1100 CEST, 118 yachts representing 31 nations will set sail from the incomparable Grand Harbour, Valletta, marking the start of the 46th Rolex Middle Sea Race.

Across 606 nautical miles of shifting winds and stunning scenery, over 1,000 sailors will take on one of offshore sailing’s most iconic challenges.

Sara Stone '09 has just become the FIRST FEMALE NAVIGATOR to win the TP52 World Championship!

From rowing at Tabor to conquering the "Formula 1" of sailing, Sara's journey is nothing short of extraordinary. After working at the CDC (including receiving honors for her Ebola response work), she made a bold career pivot to professional sailing - treating it like "a project management exercise where I was the project."

As navigator for American Magic Quantum Racing, Sara manages all the electronic systems and data interpretation during races, making split-second decisions that can make or break a team's performance on the water.

Her advice for overcoming obstacles? "Every time I was told 'no,' I didn't take it personally. I used it as a method of figuring out what I was missing."

Today she's a full-time professional sailor competing in multiple racing series with goals of The America's Cup. While she's making waves around the world, her Seawolf family is cheering her on from our Tabor waterfront!
