2022 saw us leaving the boat (temporarily) behind and moving back to the sandpit (Abu Dhabi, this time).

We lived between boxes (cat boxes, of course), we were all blown away by the ownership of a washing machine (boat people, you know what we mean), we caught up with good old friends, even managed a bit of sailing and found our new local gym.

There were lots of airport pick ups with Nick’s travels, we finally got to celebrate our wedding and took a dive trip to Thailand.

We have sort of fallen into a very unroutine routine.

That’s the only way we seem to do things. And it works for us.

We still miss the boat, diving regularly and all our sailing friends and we hope to see some of you at some point this year.

Happy new year to our family and friends near and far 💙🐠⛵️

After a few hectic months we are finally spending time together (after all we are actually married). Gemma settled into her new role in Abu Dhabi, Nick shuffled all our bags and cats to join her before he started travelling to Africa to work. We have swapped a Greek marina for an apartment in a Middle East city (and we have a washing machine!) We have reconnected with good friends, found a new gym (thanks for the butt kicking yesterday) and been to the cinema! Damaniyat is being very well taken care of by our friends Lukas and Maureen. You can follow their adventures on

Penultimate weekend before Gemma heads to the desert. 16 km hike from Vassiliki to Roupakias abandoned village and back. We are hanging up our life jackets for a few years to top up the bank before we return to Greece. Our love affair with the Ioanian is not over. To quote Ross Geller, we are on a break.

2 year anniversary. Together (for a change) in Costa Brava after a strange year of Nick working away. You could say that we manifested an amazing sunset but that would be cosmic bo****ks.

And that's a wrap for this summer 🌞 We've had a fantastic time diving 🐟, catching up with friends and then diving some more. While the Ionian is very busy, we have managed to stay away from the crowds quite successfully. One final walk with the cat gang this morning for Nick. He is now off to work again and Gemma is getting ready for family visits next week 🎉

When your planned night dive ends up being your unplanned night sail. One last night at anchor ⚓ in Varko Bay before we return to the marina in the morning (we COULD do a dawn dive... 🤔)

Goodbye Ithaca 👋 We never seem to come for one day only (because we never seem to have enough of it). We've spent the last 4 days in Vathi hiding from strong winds. We anchored by Lazaretto Island for the first time and we think that's our new favorite spot in town. Upon arrival Nick was quickly "put to work" by Spiros at Caramella😂 Our Italian neighbor dragged anchor and Nick managed to help him recover his boat and his dinghy (the reward was more than generous; wine, whisky and bread). One sleepless night with 30 knot winds and a couple of nice meals in town (thanks to for the best kontosouvli!) made it for another great visit to this stunning location 💙

Last week we spent 4 days anchored in Two Rock Bay and diving a new dive site. We don't get tired of diving the same sites but it is always exciting to explore new spots. A wall dive to 22 m with white sand at the bottom; moray eels, lots of scorpion fish and, of course, tons of bright purple nudibranchs (to Gemma's delight) 😍.
