Kalymnos Climbing Guide

People often ask me if it's too hot to climb on Kalymnos in summer.

The answer is: it depends where you go 😉

With a bit of local knowledge, there are plenty of sectors that stay comfortable and offer excellent climbing conditions, even during the warmer months.

These are 5 of my favorite shady sectors on the island. Some are famous, some are a little quieter, but all of them are great options when the temperature rises.

19 years ago today, we got married near Mont Blanc. ❤️

Since then, we've moved countries, built a life in Greece, raise three daughters, created a business together, and collected plenty of stories along the way.

Not everything went according to plan. This year was especially a challenge.
But we're are here.❤️❤️
A little older.
Definitely more tired. 😅
But looking in the same direction 😉

Nothing makes me happier than seeing climbers leave Kalymnos with more confidence, new skills, great memories… and a big smile after a week on the rock 💙

There’s just something special about climbing in Kalymnos 💙

Big tufas, sea view everywhere, perfect rock, good vibes at the crag…

Every season I see climbers arrive here a bit nervous on tufas… and leave a week later moving with more confidence, flow and trust. And from grade 5c/6a!

That’s what I love about coaching here:
helping people progress while fully enjoying the experience of climbing on this incredible island.

And honestly, once you on Kalymnos tufas, it’s hard not to come back 😉
