We hope you will join the party! It would be great to see as many of you as possible in person. The island of Grinda in the Stockholm archipelago will be the place to be August 22-23.

Forget the traditional point-to-point races. The Grinda Swimrun Challenge features four short, distinct courses—all starting and finishing at the same spot. 

Some of you might be familiar with this “Backyard” format!

The Swimrun Twist

The four courses consist of two swimrun courses, one running and one swimming course. The first four non-competitive laps we let you choose which one to do. If you want to participate in the following four laps, we’re calling the shots, telling you which course to do!

Flexible Format: Choose between non-competitive fun or adrenaline-pumping competition. 

Spectator-Friendly: Cheer on friends and family as they cross the start/finish line every 30 minutes. Close to restaurants and cafés.

This isn’t just a race; it’s a community-driven adventure where every participant and spectator, from beginners to elites, finds their place. 

Kids under 12 race for free! Shorter courses available.

Grinda Trail Run

Last year we kicked off our engagement on Grinda with a new type of Swimrun Challenge. This year we’re adding a beautiful and accessible Trail Race the day after the Swimrun. 

3,5 km for those who want to discover.

6 km for those who want the fun to last a bit longer.

10 km - an official Terrängmil - for those who want a bit more of a challenge.

For small legs we’re creating a 400m trail loop to get things started. Kids under 12 race for free!

When the news of the tragic death of one of swimruns greatest athletes hit, the reactions from the community were instant. The friends, the partners, the ones who just had the opportunity to be around Max.

Today we read the article in the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. Thank you Hugo for sharing. The first photos in this post is from the race in Cannes when Hugo and Max weren't racing as a team yet (but that fist bump would be followed up by plenty!) Nicolas and Francesc had to settle for third! The last photo is from before the race in Casco Bay, USA.

We hesitated to write. The close friends of Max already said it so well.
But maybe we, as part of the swimrun community have something to add. The way the community is grieving one of its absolute greatest is worth mentioning. A sport too small to be playing in the big league when it comes to recognition, sponsors and participants. Swimrun has a community that is small enough to care. Max was fast as lightning. This is not the first thing people mention when they talk about him. The way he made others feel, the way his smile would warm up the coldest swimrun course, thats what people mention.

We are chocked because of the injustice of a life that ended far too early. We are sad because this is a person that we will miss. We are reminded that life is fragile. We are reminded about what is relevant. Take care of each other, appreciate all the good times. Live. If you need a good example, look at all the images being posted of Max, listen to what his friends say about him.
