The Croquet Club of Corfu is the only croquet club in the whole of Greece, which we are very proud of. Since the start of the Club we have held international tournaments on our beautiful lawns, which are situated in Gouvia
Marina next to the cricket pitch. Gouvia Marina has a lot of facilities, these include restaurants, shops, bars and a swimming pool. Our three lawns have been created according to the international standards and on guidance from Peter Craig, the highly respected groundsman at London’s prestigious Hurlingham Club. We are proud of the condition of our lawns and its surroundings, as it is really a very beautiful place to play a game of croquet. For us, Croquet is a game of concentration, skill, strategy, decisions and most of all, fun. Our goal is to be a lively and enthusiastic club where lots of people can share their enjoyment of this wonderful game. As well as members we also have an enthusiastic group of guest players who play games on a more irregular basis. So, although we would like to invite everybody to become a member, you don’t have to be a member to join in a game with us. Our flexible system gives you the opportunity to choose the times and conditions that suit you. We can play all the year around because of the pleasant climate of Corfu. Of course you can play on other times. We also play an individual competition. We try to organize two big tournaments a year, one Association- and one Golf croquet tournament, the so called “Greek Open” with guests from Great Britain. We have created a children’s lawn, because we believe that "when educated young the skills continue into adulthood." Mallets and balls are available. Dress: you need flat (sport)shoes and in the summer season (April/October) we wear preferably white or light coloured clothing. You would like to know more?
