The RedD Art Retreat is an exciting new project specially tailored to groups that wish to escape the hustle and bustle of big city life by entering a world of contemporary art and wellness within the wholesome environment of the Greek island of Crete.

The water at Falassarna beach is one of the cleanest in Europe and has frequently been featured as one of the top 10 beaches to visit.

We love taking our guests to this spot to experience the crystal clear water, relax and even practice some beach yoga and meditation.

Kedrodasos beach is one of the top choices for campers on the island.

Crystal clean waters, white sand in an idealic opening past pine-trees.

Is one of our top favourite spots in Chania, not accesible by public transport.

Nudists are welcome here.

One of our favourite spots for sunset mediation is the beach at Ancient Falassarna.

The colors of the sky moments before sunset in combination to the sounds of from the ocean is one of the best ways to reset, recharge, and get into the right headspace for the colder months ahead!

For the thrill seekers amongst you we can also arrange to take you Bungee jumping!

Situated over the Gorge of Aradena in the South of Crete in Sfakia is the second deepest gorge in Europe, with 138 meters depth!

This truly is a once life changing experience.

The Lake of Kournas is the only freshwater lake Crete.

Its about 15 mins drive from some of our artists workshops and homes in the region of Apokoronas, we highly recommend it as a pit stop post studio visit for our guests.

Situated in the village of Georgioupoli, perfect for those that love to be near the water but don't necessarily want to visit a beach every day.

Rent a paddle boat and explore the green blue waters.

As we all know avocados are a great source of vitamins and when consumed in moderation have many many health benefits.

Roughly 90% of avocado's in Greece are produced right here in Crete!

This gives us the freshest, ripest version of the meals they are included in.

During your time with us at the RedD Art Retreat we will be organising regular trips to artists studios in the city as well as the nearby villages.

Born in Buhriz – Diyala, near Baghdad in 1959, Satta now lives and works in Leicester, UK.

At the age of nineteen, Hashem's exile began when he left Iraq for Algeria where he started his education as an artist. He then moved to Russia to complete his education and then to Sweden, before settling in the UK in 2000.

Satta has an MA in Fine Arts (1989), in Mural Painting and Decorative Arts, from Leningrad Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Design, Leningrad, USSR.

He has had a number of solo exhibitions and participated in a large number of group exhibitions around the world.
Satta is represented in a number of collections, including drawings in The British Museum’s permanent collections, and paintings in the Museum of Contemporary Arts, Kaliningrad, Russia. Leicester Museum & Art Gallery. Leicester City Council, UK. Stockholm City Council, Sweden. Handelsbanken, Stockholm, Sweden, and many private collections.

In 2010, a hall at the Adult Education College, Leicester, containing two of his mural paintings, was re-named Satta Hashem Hall.

He has executed several permanent and temporary mural paintings in public places, in Sweden and the UK
He speaks Arabic, Russian, Swedish and English.

Falassarna beach has some of the cleanest waters in Europe, covered in white sand with turquoise water it sits on the west side of the island of Crete.

This blue flag beach is one of our favourite spots for sunset yoga & meditation.
