A “ SAYOC Tuhon”  from the source who originally created that rank must be earned. Â
“ Tuhon” rank is not a title that is ever taken lightly in Sayoc, it is not for sale, one can not be promoted by outsiders no matter their titles, it is a rank that was created, sharpened and the shine that comes from being called a “ Tuhon “ is due to the deeds propagated from One Tribe, Sayoc Kali.
A Sayoc Tuhon rank only means something to an individual who embraces the challenges and work ethic that are required to strengthen others in the tribe and who has accomplished deeds that evolve the system for the future. A person who cares solely on what will benefit their own self interests does not care about rank. A rank is an oath to uphold not only what honors who came before them but most importantly, how they will train others to the tribe’s standards.
A person does not call himself a Sayoc Tuhon - Others regard them as that, because they are authentic, capable and draw their blade to give respect to the deeds of the ten thousand hands before them.
Lastly, the Sayoc Tuhon rank is not a lifetime rank, instead it is a rank that time holds accountable throughout one’s life.
Tuhon Nick Sacoulas began his martial arts journey in 1983 and founded Progressive Martial Arts in 1995.
