Incredibly, Ding has now made two of the four maximum breaks ever made at The Masters, having made one against Anthony Hamilton back in 2007.

The perfect break came in the seventh frame of the match in which O’Sullivan had raced into a 4-0 lead, but Ding battled back to make it 4-3 with the 147. However, the Rocket was unrattled, knocking in a century of his own (127) in the very next frame.

Judd Trump composed the eighth maximum 147 break of his career during his last 64 tie with Mitchell Mann at the BetVictor Scottish Open in Edinburgh.
The perfect run came in the very first frame of the match and puts Trump in position to pocket the £5,000 high break prize on offer this week. He went on to earn a 4-0 whitewash victory.
It’s Trump’s second 147 of the campaign, having also crafted a maximum in the Champion of Champions final against Ronnie O’Sullivan. It is the sixth to be made on tour this season and the 182nd official maximum in snooker history.
Trump said: “Making a 147 is always super special to me. I could feel the excitement out there. It is a venue I’ve never been to before and my first time in Edinburgh. Snooker hasn’t been here for a long time, so for people to be able to come and watch is good enough. However, to make a 147 isn’t something that happens in every tournament. Everyone who has been here and been part of it can go away with a smile on their face.
“A 147 is the pinnacle for me. It is better than winning any tournament. Maybe winning the World Championship is the exception. Other than that there is no better buzz. The nerves start going to make sure you don’t miss something easy. You know that everyone at home is willing you on to make it. You are a part of history every time you do it.”
