Andros Trail Race

A journey to the historical and cultural heritage of our island, through a mountain running race. A challenging race for the Cyclades, since it combines not only different elevation gain with racing field alterations but also the fact that athletes run in old traditional trails which set the racing routes. Each athlete gets the chance to run through traditional and picturesque villages, cobbled roads, stone threshing floors, impressive dry stone walls (Xerolithies), wind and watermills, stone bridges consisting of a beautiful environment and landscape. Running on the first island in Europe to be recognized by the European Ramblers Association and certified as one of the Leading Quality Trails – Best of Europe is a unique experience. The Venetian castle of Faneromeni, the castle-like monastery of Panachrandou, the dovecotes in Korthi, and the panoramic view will take your breath away. A race that challenges, excites, reveals, and combines all cultural elements that characterize Andros and consist of its unique identity. A combination of sports and culture! The two-day event includes additional routes, a 5km City Trail and 1km children race, taking place in Korthi Bay on Saturday 25th September

The main races 24km and 10km are taking place on Sunday 26th September in Korthi Bay area and the surrounding villages.
