After a transformative six-month sojourn in Europe dedicated to capacity building and fundraising, Dr. Badjie is poised to embark on his most ambitious endeavor yet.
For a decade, Dr. Badjie has been an unwavering champion for the youth of West Africa. His unwavering passion and dedication have seen him transform the lives of hundreds of young people, providing them with opportunities to reach their full potential. His work extends far beyond mere charity; it's a catalyst for change, igniting hope where it was once scarce.
Today, as he sets off on a groundbreaking mission alongside his newly appointed Vice President, V. Greetings to all Gambians on this auspicious occasion of the 59th Independence Day of our beloved country. I am Dr. Ebrima Badjie, the president of the youth organisation The Gambian Connection Group. For over 10 years, I have been working in The Gambia to support the Gambian youth in their education, empowerment, and entrepreneurship. It has not always been easy, but it has been a pleasure to witness the growth and potential of our young generation.

The Gambian Connection Group is a platform for the youth to connect, collaborate, and create positive change in their communities. We provide mentorship, training, and opportunities for the youth to develop their skills and talents. We also advocate for the rights and interests of the youth in the national development agenda. We believe that the youth are the future of The Gambia, and we are committed to helping them achieve their dreams.

On this Independence Day, I wish all Gambians success and prosperity. I also urge the youth to take advantage of the opportunities that our country offers, and to contribute to its development with passion and dedication. Let us celebrate our independence with pride and gratitude, and let us work together to make The Gambia a shining example of democracy, peace, and progress in Africa and the world.

One of our main areas of focus is the Turntable area, a bustling hub of activity and commerce in the West Coast Division. The Turntable area is home to many young people who do hard and honest work every day, from drivers to mechanics to shoe repairers. We have a wide spectrum of hard-working and honest youth here, who deserve better opportunities and living conditions.

That is why, in 2024, we plan to establish some workshops and shops in the Turntable area, to give the youth better working conditions and income sources. We have seen how the reckless demolition of many shops and the destruction of the basic income for many people has affected the situation in that area. Even though people manage with the situation, the road clearing the way it was done without creating any alternatives for the people was a wrong action.

To compensate for that, we have to jump in now and provide some solutions. We also invite our friends and partners, as well as anyone who wants to support the real future of our country, the Gambian youth, to join us in our efforts. We believe that by empowering the youth, we can create a positive change in the Gambia and beyond.

We are looking forward to working with you in 2024 and making our vision a reality. Together, we can make a difference.

A Holiday Message from Dr. Ebrima Badjie
Hello, this is Dr. Ebrima Badjie, writing to you on behalf of The Gambian Connection. As the holiday season is upon us, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past year and express my heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported us.

Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! This time of year is a reminder of the joy and warmth that comes from celebrating together, even if we are miles apart. It’s a time for us to express our gratitude, spread love, and make merry.

I am pleased to announce that our team will be taking a well-deserved break to recharge and spend time with our loved ones. Our offices will be closed for the holidays from today until January 3rd, 2024. We believe in the importance of rest and relaxation for maintaining a healthy work-life balance, and we encourage everyone to do the same during this festive season.

To our sponsors, supporters, and friends, I want to extend my deepest thanks. Your unwavering support and belief in our mission have been instrumental in our successes this year. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and commitment.
