🕊️ IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE LATE PA JENG (FARAFENNI) 🕊️

The Gambia Volleyball Federation announces with deep sorrow the passing of the late Pa Jeng of Farafenni, who passed away yesterday. His burial will take place today. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

📸 In this photo: the late Pa Jeng (standing) with the President of the Gambia Volleyball Federation, receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from Farafenni in recognition of his continuous support to volleyball development.

Pa Jeng was a highly respected volleyball coach and administrator, serving as the Head Coach of the Farafenni Volleyball Academy and dedicating over 20 years of his life to the development of volleyball in The Gambia.

His coaching journey began in Brikama before he was later stationed in Farafenni, where he played a central role in developing both male and female players at the Farafenni Youth Center. Almost every volleyball player from Farafenni passed through his mentorship.

He also played a key role in the Africa Dream Project implemented in The Gambia around 2015–2016, where he successfully coordinated the programme in Farafenni. Several players he developed are today playing professional volleyball in countries such as Qatar and Dubai.

Pa Jeng’s dedication, passion, and commitment to youth development have left an indelible mark on Gambian volleyball. His legacy will continue to live on through the many athletes he trained and inspired.

🕯️ Rest in peace, Coach Pa Jeng.
Your contribution to Gambian volleyball will never be forgotten.
