🐙Have you seen our "Octopus Garden" in Seven sisters? 🐙

In collaboration with the department of Marine Science at the University of Gibraltar, we assisted on their great project deploying repurposed clay pots as artificial dens to boost local octopus populations.

🌊🚢 GOING, GOING… GONE!

The Cyclone has officially joined Gibraltar's underwater world! 🤿

Yesterday, the vessel was deliberately sunk at Camp Bay, becoming the latest addition to Gibraltar's artificial reef project — the first of its kind in Europe, dating back to 1975!

With over 30 vessels already deliberately sunk as part of this pioneering project, the Cyclone joins a remarkable underwater landscape that has developed into a haven for marine life and a fantastic attraction for divers.

From her final moments on the surface to her new home on the seabed, these photos capture the sinking as it happened.

Now the exciting part begins — watching marine life move in and seeing how Gibraltar's newest wreck develops over the coming months and years! 🐙🐠

🐙 Happy World Octopus Day! 🌊

Here in Gibraltar, we’re lucky to share our waters with one of the ocean’s most fascinating residents — the octopus!

Often spotted hiding amongst our rocks, reefs and wrecks, these incredible creatures are masters of camouflage, able to change their colour and texture in seconds. With three hearts, blue blood and remarkable intelligence, there’s a lot more to an octopus than eight arms! 🐙💙

📸 And these aren’t stock photos — all three of these amazing octopus photos were taken right here in Gibraltar’s waters!

For our divers, spotting an octopus is always a highlight, whether it’s carefully peeking out from its den, perfectly camouflaged against the seabed or out exploring.

We’re incredibly lucky to have such fascinating marine life right on our doorstep. 🌊🐙

Dive site spotlight - The Ark of Jesus Christ and Basha ⚓

These wrecks lie close together and were purposely sunk to form part of the Camp Bay artificial reef project. 🪸

The Ark of Jesus Christ was a 27 meter wooden Spanish fishing boat sunk in August 1994 and the Basha was a 22 meter supply vessel sunk in May 2001. 🎉

🌊Meet the team - Nick🌊

Nick joined us in May 2024 as a professional diver, though familiar with the shop having previously worked in our sister company Dolphin Adventure and learning how to dive with us from a young age. As a local Gibraltarian, Nick has been in and around our waters since he could order a bollo tikka from Ramsons.
