It’s been a minute since I’ve posted here. And for good reason. Cooking a human has had me busy.🩵👶🏼
Pregnancy doesn’t pause strength - it reshapes it. I am forever grateful for having gone through this experience. For someone who lives and breathes fitness, pregnancy brings its own challenges and adaptations. It forces you to slow down, listen to your body, and train with intention for labour prep - instead of chasing aesthetics.
Training during pregnancy is safe, empowering, and deeply beneficial when you have doctor approval and the guidance of a prenatal-qualified trainer.
Why staying active during pregnancy matters:
✅ Supports your changing posture and reduces back pain
✅ Builds strength for labour, birth, and recovery
✅ Improves circulation and reduces swelling
✅ Boosts mood and helps manage stress
✅ Enhances mobility as your body adapts
Why it helps postpartum too:
🩵Rebuilds core and pelvic floor safely
🩵Supports posture and reduces aches
🩵Restores functional strength for daily mum life
🩵Improves mental wellbeing during a huge emotional shift
Right now, the goal is slow rebuilding. Despite having an uncomplicated pregnancy and quick labour, I am not rushing, not comparing, not chasing timelines. My body has done something miraculous, and it deserves patience, compassion, and structured progression. Let’s normalise ‘slow, steady and sustainable’ over the ‘bounce-back’ mentality🙌🏻
But the BIGGEST goal of all is to be present - present and grounded for my son. Present for the habits he’ll grow up watching. Parents are a child’s most influential teachers - and any parent’s wish is for their child to grow up happy and healthy - and the habits he sees today will shape the choices he makes as he becomes the person he’s meant to be.✨
