As the Director of Football and Head Coach, it is with a heavy heart that I reflect on our recent season. Unfortunately, we missed out on the playoffs at the most crucial part of the season. This outcome is particularly hard to accept after a challenging first round of the league where we faced numerous hurdles, including major injuries, suspensions, and players returning late from their holidays. Given these difficulties, we knew it would be a tough task to catch up.
In the second round of the season, however, we displayed remarkable football, resilience, and character. Our team clawed back points and came within a whisker of just 6 points from the league champions. Despite our efforts, the demands of a grueling second round, coupled with our progress into the Fenix Trophy finals for the third consecutive year, took a significant toll on our squad.
Missing out on the playoffs is, of course, disappointing. The absence of key players in the last 5/6 games was always going to present a challenge. Nonetheless, going through the second round with only one defeat is a commendable achievement, and every player who remained committed deserves immense credit.
As we look ahead to the next season, starting strong will be key for us. Our aim is to compete and win the league, and our remarkable form in the second round of this season shows that we are capable of achieving this. We are excited to announce new recruitment plans to bolster our squad.
With new players coming in and some players leaving, we are committed to strengthening our team to ensure a strong start and a competitive edge throughout the season. Our ambition as a dynamic and progressive football club remains unchanged.
We know that, despite the outcome, we were undoubtedly one of the best teams in the league, and we can take pride in what we’ve accomplished over the course of this season. We will regroup, refocus, and go again next season with our sights firmly set on the title. 🔥🔥🙏🏽🙏🏽💪🏾
