🔥 SECOND SEMI-FINAL IS SET!

The stage is ready for another massive battle as Abia Eagles FC take on the resilient Inter Prampram FC this Sunday.

Abia Eagles have looked impressive in the group stage, finishing strongly and booking their place in the last four with a convincing 3–1 victory over Unity Stars.

But standing in their way is an Inter Prampram side that has already shown they can survive under pressure. They fought their way through a tough Group A and secured their semi-final spot after a crucial 2–1 victory over defending champions Under Light FC.

Now, there is no room for mistakes. No second chance. One game separates them from the final.

Rooney X1 come into this one with the strongest group-stage record — 7 points, unbeaten in all three games, and looking like one of the teams to beat.

Standing in their way are the 2024 champions, Don Ziggy FC. They suffered a setback against Abia Eagles FC in their second group game, but bounced back in style, defeating Vanity FC 2–1 to book their place in the semis.

Now, everything goes out the window.

BEHOLD! THE GROUP PHASE IS OVER! 🔥⚽

The group phase of the 2026 Homowo Tournament has officially come to an end, and what a journey it has been! As we move into the highly anticipated semi-finals, here are 7 things we learned…

1. This tournament keeps getting better! 🔥
This year has been incredibly competitive, with skill, passion, goals and unforgettable moments making almost every game a spectacle. Nobody was guaranteed anything!

2. The match officials meant business! 👏🏾
Our officials have been on top of their game, keeping a close eye on proceedings and ensuring that nothing escaped their attention. They truly played their part in making the tournament exciting and competitive.

3. The fans have been the heartbeat of the tournament! ❤️⚽
The support this year has been massive, and even better, there has been a noticeable improvement in the behaviour of fans and supporters. They came to cheer, sing, celebrate and create the atmosphere that makes Homowo football special.

4. There is no easy road to the trophy! 🏆
Once again, the tournament has proven that there is no direct winner. No team has managed to dominate and win the competition back-to-back. Every new edition brings a new challenge, and the trophy remains anyone’s to fight for!

5. Local businesses are feeling the impact! 💰🔥
Thousands of people have thronged the park every Saturday and Sunday, creating a booming environment for local vendors and businesses. From food and drinks to other small businesses, Homowo football is putting money back into the community.

6. Even the giants can fall! 😱
The group stage has humbled some big names and promising sides. Last year’s champions Under Light FC, the promising Sunset FC, impressive Unity Stars and resilient Vanity FC all fell along the way. In this tournament, reputation means nothing—you must earn your place!

7. Smart organizational changes are improving the game! 🧠⚽
The Prampram Hood Leagues (PHL) made key decisions this season, including starting matches earlier than before, as well as rearranging, repositioning, and rotating officials’ roles. These changes were introduced to reduce familiarity, prevent potential conflicts of interest, and ensure fairness and professionalism across all matches.

What a beautiful weekend it has been for Don Ziggy FC and Abia Eagles FC, as both teams booked their places in the semi-finals of the Homowo Futsal Cup 2026! 🏆⚽

Abia Eagles FC 3–1 Unity Stars FC

Abia Eagles came out on top in a crucial encounter, defeating Unity Stars 3–1.

Captain Jeff was the hero of the day, scoring twice, while Wale added the third to take his tournament tally to 3 goals so far. 👏🔥

Later in the day, Don Ziggy FC secured their semi-final spot with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Vanity FC. 💪🏾
