A modest attempt has been made to chronicle without exaggeration, the salient features of Kumasi Cornerstone football club in Ghana’s soccer history. Starting with a brief ex*****on into the pre-scientific era and Ghana’s football reformation. Football Goes to Ashanti
From the football mustard seed sewn in Cape Coast in the decade of the Twentieth Century,

grew the mighty soccer trunk of Ghana. One of the essential spreading branches shooting into the municipalities was the stalwart tributary which was destined to play a most colourful part in the football reformation of Ghana. Happily, it was nearly twenty years after the introduction of football in Cape Coast, the first capital city of Gold Coast (now Ghana) that the game reached Kumasi-Ashanti, the Garden City of Ghana in 1920. It is of interest to mention that EXCELSIOR’ of Cape Coast was the first football team formed in the Gold Coast in 1903.They were playing in boots. Founding of the Club
For the first few years of its introduction, the game did not move beyond the stage of lacking about of any convenient spherical object for fun and amusement. Gradually enthusiasm grew out of proportion and the need to harness this into healthy and well directed organization became THE STONE.

IT'S THE SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

Our boys head into Sunday's clash with Wassaman FC knowing only a win will absolutely guarantee our Division One League survival. We host Wassaman FC a very difficult side that have conceded few numbers of goals, on the final match day with our division one league future still on the balance. No one could have envisaged our season to pan out like this when we had beaten Ebusua Dwarfs FC back in week 22 league fixture to climb up to 8th place. Castro’s side have now taken just 5 points from their last 5 games and they must win their last game of the season to ensure survival. Let’s go for the full points boys. CS – No Regrets!
