Profile of your Sports nominee: Eric Darko (Cedar Oak Basket Ball Academy)

Eric Darko is a passionate basketball coach and sports professional dedicated to growing the sport in Ghana, especially among youth and young females.

He holds a BSc in Health, Physical Education, Sports and Recreation from the University of Education, Winneba, and a Level 1 Diploma in Basketball Coaching from the International Basketball University in Lithuania.

He also has a background in software development and is set to pursue a certificate in Sports Psychology.

Eric began his coaching journey at Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, where he led the team to multiple championships, later serving as Director of Physical Education at Royalties Sports Academy.

He also coached Galaxy International School to success before co-founding Cedar Oak Basketball Academy (COBA) in 2020. Under his leadership, COBA has won several tournaments and helped over 20 athletes gain scholarships abroad.

A respected figure in Ghana’s basketball community, Eric collaborates with the Ghana Basketball Association and other organizations to promote grassroots sports and youth development.

His commitment goes beyond coaching, offering mentorship and support that inspires both personal and athletic growth.
