💬 Jules Kounde: “We've talked many times about the busy schedule and playing too many matches. I know that sometimes people find it hard to understand.
“It's true, we’re very lucky to do what we do. I consider myself fortunate, and I think others feel the same – to live well and make a living from our passion.
“But I also believe it’s disrespectful to the club to schedule this match on this date. It doesn’t matter which club it is. Osasuna also had international players like Budimir, who I faced, and he didn’t get the necessary rest. The same goes for many other players, whether it’s Barcelona, Osasuna, or even Madrid when it happens to them.
“I think beyond the disrespect to the clubs; it’s a lack of respect toward the players.
“People need to understand we’re not machines. To deliver the level of play fans want – intense, competitive matches – we also need time to rest.
“They can’t just set dates however they like. In the end, we haven’t complained because, as the coach said, we’re not here to make excuses – that’s not what we do.
“But there comes a point where we need our voices heard because we’re the main actors here, and they can’t just do whatever they want.
“That’s what I wanted to say. I’m not only talking about Barça, I’m talking about all players.”
Following his team's 3-0 victory over Osasuna on Thursday evening, Jules Kounde once again voiced his concerns about the relentless match calendar – an issue Harry Kane also recently highlighted, reflecting growing frustrations among players.
