☘️ Michael McInerney Relay Race 2026 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Thursday night, we came together for the second annual Michael McInerney Memorial Relay Race 💙

What started as a special way to remember one of our much-loved long-standing members is now becoming a fantastic annual club tradition. With plenty of teamwork, enthusiasm and healthy competition on display, it was another brilliant evening spent remembering Michael and celebrating the running club community he was such a big part of.

We’re sure Michael would have loved seeing everyone out there giving it their all! ☘️🏆

🏆 SADRC CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026: WHAT A NIGHT! 💙

On Tuesday night, a record-breaking 83 SADRC runners took on the new Hot Horseshoe 5 Mile route around Central Park, making it not only our biggest Club Championships ever, but we believe the largest event our club has ever hosted! 🎉

It was incredible to see a sea of blue filling Central Park, with club members racing hard, supporting one another and, most importantly, enjoying being part of something very special. 💙

🥇 2026 MALE CLUB CHAMPION: STEPHEN GERAGHTY

He’s back! Stephen successfully defends his Club Champion title and returns to the top once again. 🏆

🥇 2026 FEMALE CLUB CHAMPION: RACHEL HOLLIDAY

A new name at the top! 🎉🏆

Huge congratulations to Rachel on becoming our 2026 Female Club Champion, a fantastic achievement and one we’re sure she’ll be incredibly proud of.

But Club Championships aren’t just about the winners. They’re about 83 members lining up together, pushing themselves, cheering each other on and representing their club. 👏

And a huge thank you to the incredible team of volunteers who made the evening possible. From marshals and timekeepers to registration, course support and everything happening behind the scenes, we couldn’t do it without you. 💙

🏃‍♂️ SADRC Away Night: Brigg Edition! 🏃‍♀️

What a fantastic night in Brigg! 👏

Over 60 runners from Scunthorpe & District Running Club and Caistor Running Club came together for a brilliant run along the Brigg Poppy 10K route, heading out towards Cadney and back. 🌳🏃‍♂️

A great route, great company and a huge turnout made for a proper club night out! 💙

And, of course, the running was followed by some well-earned refreshments and a social at The White Horse 🍻

A massive thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a great evening, especially to our friends at Caistor Running Club for joining us! 🤝

🏃‍♂️ SADRC 10K TIME TRIAL – TOMORROW NIGHT! 🏃‍♀️

🔥 OUR FINAL 10K TIME TRIAL OF 2026! 🔥

Join us tomorrow night for the last 10K Time Trial of our 2026 series at Sunflower Park, Laughton! 🌻

Haven’t run it yet this year? This is your last chance! Whether you’re chasing a PB or simply looking to enjoy a 10K with your fellow runners, there’s a place for everyone on the start line. 💙

⚠️ ROUTE UPDATE

The road closure on our original Time Trial route is still in place, so we’ll once again be using our alternative out-and-back course towards Laughton village.

It’s a great route, with plenty of the course benefiting from shade 🌳, and we’ll have two water stations along the way, including one that you’ll pass twice during the run.

💧 Every runner will also receive a free bottle of water at the finish.

🍕 PIZZA AFTER THE RUN!

We’re delighted to have Pompieri Pizza Co joining us tomorrow night with their fantastic old fire truck pizza van! 🚒🍕

They’ll be serving freshly made, stone-baked pizzas throughout the evening, with a selection of toppings available to choose from.

Perfect for refuelling and enjoying a post-run catch-up! 😋

🍕 Pizzas will be available to purchase directly from Pompiere Pizza Co on the night.

🌻 Set in the beautiful surroundings of Sunflower Park, you’ll also be sharing the venue with the famous “Crazy Gang” – over 300 rescue animals who help make this one of the most unique running venues around!

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Scunthorpe & District Running Club on Tour! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

What a fantastic morning at Lincoln parkrun! Over 25 SADRC members made the trip for our latest Away Day, filling the course with plenty of 🔵⚫️⚪️ and high spirits!

Thank you so much to the incredible volunteers and team at for hosting us. Nothing beats starting the weekend with great running and even better company!

This Saturday we’re heading over to Lincoln parkrun for our next club away day. Whether you’re chasing a PB, enjoying a steady run, or heading over for your very first parkrun, everyone is welcome!

If you see a sea of blue around Boultham Park, that’ll be us! Come and say hello, and if you’re one of our members, don’t forget to wear your club kit. 💙

🏅Medal Monday🏅

Congratulations to Harry, Aiden, Nat, Andrea and Gemma (not pictured) for tackling York 10k yesterday. A ‘flat and fast’ course but with lots of twisting and turning along with a lot of other runners making it busy. Some great times and great training for future races 👏🏼

Well done to George who tackled Workington Half Marathon yesterday in the Lake District. For anyone that knows George will know that he loves hills and finds them easy so this course with nearly 600ft in elevation was a walk in the park for him. He finished in a time of 1:39:29 and was 25th overall 👏🏼

What. A. Night. 💙🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Last night saw the final 5K event in our 2026 Time Trial Series, and what a fantastic evening it turned out to be!

An incredible 67 runners took to the paths of Central Park, supported by over 20 amazing volunteers who gave up their evening to marshal, timekeep, register runners, hand out water and ensure everything ran like clockwork. Events like these simply wouldn’t be possible without you all, so from everyone at Scunthorpe & District Running Club… thank you! 👏

The results only tell part of the story. Yes, there were brilliant performances, personal bests and course bests, but there were also members taking on the course at their own pace, running alongside friends, encouraging others and simply enjoying being part of another fantastic club night. That’s exactly what these evenings are all about.

The atmosphere from the first runner setting off to the final finishers crossing the line was incredible, with encouragement around every corner and smiles everywhere you looked. It’s evenings like this that remind us why we’re so proud to be part of this club.

A huge thank you also goes to Patrick Barnett, who came along to capture the evening. Patrick produced some fantastic photographs that really captured the atmosphere of the event, so make sure you head over to the Friends of Scunthorpe & District Running Club. page to take a look! 📸

And, of course, no Time Trial evening would be complete without everyone heading upstairs afterwards to App Frod’s new sports bar to enjoy our now legendary post-run chip butties! 🍟😂 It’s become a tradition that perfectly sums up what these nights are really about! Great running, great company and bringing people together.

🏃‍♂️ SADRC 5KM TIME TRIAL – FINAL ROUND! 🏃‍♀️

The final event in our 2026 Time Trial Series is almost here! 🎉

If you’ve been meaning to give one of our 5Ks a go, this is your last chance before the series comes to a close.

Our previous two 5K events have been a huge success, with the most recent attracting 77 runners – a club record! 🙌

Whether you’re:
🏃 Chasing a new PB
📈 Measuring your current fitness
🤝 Running with friends
💪 Or simply challenging yourself…

…this event is for you.

Our flat, fast three-lap course through Central Park is ideal for runners of all abilities. Remember, this isn’t about racing everyone else, it’s about racing yourself. Whatever your pace, you’ll have plenty of encouragement from our volunteers and fellow runners all the way round. 💙
