So we are now into January and someone is probably thinking....
*I need to start exercising but I don't know how to or what to do?
*Gyms are not for me and a bit scary?
*Everyone in classes know what they are doing & I'll look like the unfit one!
*I just want to get a bit fitter!
Well I'm here to give you some options and dispel some myths too.
Guess what most people instructors ask in the gym say exactly the same things..so they are just like you.
Also no-one has time to look at others in a class they are too busy watching the instructor and thinking when is she/he going to stop. Or Omg look at the time is that all?
Also there are other ways to exercise now, but help keep you motivated.
1. Join a zoom workout from home, that way no-one is looking at you. Because let's face it, they have to squint to see the instructor and don't have time to see you because they need to know what's happening next
2. Just add little extra exercise into your day, get off the bus a stop early. Aim to go up and down the stairs 10 times after breakfast. Do a quick 12 mins home workout. Ask a friend to meet for a walk once a week (I bet they are feeling the same as you!)
3. Get active with the kids... Go to park but have a park-off. Who can get round the park quipment the quickest? Who can run round the park before someone does 20 swings on the swing?
4. Don't beat yourself up and feel like you have to do an hours workout... Even 12 mins 5 days per week is on average 20800 more calories per year and an extra 1 hr of exercise a week, that 52 extra hours of exercise per year!
