🏆 Trophy final
Huntington Reds U9 Vs Elm Park
What a season it has been for the reds. Their progress from each mini season has been massive and the reds wanted to continue their unbeaten mini season with a win in the final.
Elm Park struck first with a long ball which Huntington struggled to adapt to in the first ten mins.
After the reds settled, they started playing the ball around with composure and great vision throughout the team. This led to multiple chances which were well taken. The defence held strong and didn't give Elm Park any more chances.
The reds didn't let up and continued to press for the win and bagged a few more goals.
Credit to Elm Park they continued battled until the last whistle!

HRFC U12 Black vs Pocklington Town U12
Our final game of the season at a sunny Hopgrove. Pocklington the visitors today, who we’d contested a close game with at their ground earlier in the season.
Both teams started well, but it was Rovers that seemed to have the edge and we had some early attacks through Jacob and Stan - both getting to the byline and crossing but couldn’t quite reach a red and black shirt.
We started to control the game from 10 minutes in, helped when Thomas scored from a long Jacob throw-in, coolly slotting past the keeper as the ball bounced to him.
We were again strong defensively with Jackson holding his central position with authority and Isaac pressing the opposition in front of him. Leon and Teddy were composed on the ball and played several balls forward to their teammates during the first half, alongside keeping a tight defensive unit.
It was a physical game and competitive throughout, so it was fitting when Jacob burst through a couple of tackles on the halfway line and pushed forward leaving the defenders in his wake. One on one with the keeper, he finished with power and accuracy which meant we got to halftime with a 2 goal advantage.
We started the second half as the first finished, Stan always a willing runner up front and Fred winning his midfield battles. Isaac was busy too, and after winning the ball he played a pass forward for Stan to run on to - he got there before the defender and composed himself before firing a sweetly struck shot past the Pocklington keeper.
Shortly after, Isaac bagged another assist - this time releasing Jacob who showed great composure once more to slot past the keeper and into the net.
More chances came after this, Luke narrowly missing the ball from a Jacob cross and Serhat having a shot blocked that looked like it was destined for the goal. Dan also had a shot blocked and Fred hit an effort that dragged agonisingly wide.
We were able to get a fifth though, Jacob again the protagonist, running with the ball at his feet, his shot was saved and Luke was on hand to put into the goal from close range.
We lost some control in midfield after this and fair play to Pocklington who didn’t give up and put us under some pressure towards the end of the game - Frankie had to be brave with one attack, rushing out to win the ball and taking a tough blow because of it. There was nothing he could do to stop what turned out to be a consolation goal for Pocklington which came from a skilful run and clever finish.
Overall, an entertaining game and one that the players enjoyed - it was great to finish the season on a high and to consolidate our position in the top half of the table.
Full-time Score: HRFC Black 5-1 Pocklington Town
Coaches’ PoTM: Leon - won all his duels, and showed excellent passing skills to get the ball forward, as well as sensing danger and mopping up at the back throughout the game.
Parents’ PoTM: Jacob - strong attacking play and a real goal threat; another excellent performance in a season of many.

⚽ Match Report
Rufforth 1–3 Huntington Rovers
Huntington Rovers finished the season in style with a brilliant 3–1 win away at Rufforth.
From the first whistle, Rovers were on top and produced a strong, controlled, one-way performance against a Rufforth side who brought plenty of bite in their tackles.
Huntington stayed composed, moved the ball well, and controlled the game throughout. The opening goal came from Jack Goodall, before David Dollar added a second to put Rovers firmly in control.
Dollar struck again for his second of the game, making it 3–0 to Huntington.
Rufforth managed to grab a late consolation goal, but Rovers saw the game out comfortably, with Harry Hobson excellent in goal and fully deserving of the Coaches’ Player of the Match award.
A fantastic team performance, full of energy, control and determination, and a brilliant way to close the season.
