78 HOURS. Our biggest month yet. 🧡⚽

August has been an incredible month for Ludus and we’re genuinely grateful to every player and parent who continues to trust us with their development.

But the biggest feeling is excitement — because we know there’s still so much more we can do.

More sessions. More opportunities. Higher standards. More ways to help players develop, compete and succeed.

And with 45.5+ hours already booked for September, we’re straight back to work.

Proud of the progress. Grateful for the support. Still hungry for more.

Welcome to Ludus Football Group, Max! 🧡💙

Another familiar face for Head Coach Ryan and one half of a very competitive brother partnership!

Max, who is part of York City Foundation, has been working with us through 2-to-1 sessions alongside his brother Harry — giving both players the opportunity to develop individually while also enjoying plenty of competitive, opposed work against each other.

Max is a lovely technical footballer. Comfortable with the ball, composed in possession and capable of producing some really clever moments when he gets playing with confidence.

Our work now is about adding another side to his game.

We’re challenging Max to become more effective without the ball — increasing his intensity, aggression and desire to compete, react and win the ball back. It’s about matching his technical quality with that extra edge when the game becomes physical and competitive.

And having your brother opposite you certainly helps bring that side out! 😂🔥

There’s plenty of ability there, and we’re looking forward to continuing to push Max and helping him become a more complete player.

Welcome to Ludus Football Group, Harry! 🧡💙

A familiar face for Head Coach Ryan, who previously worked with Harry through 2-to-1 sessions alongside his brother Max, and we’re delighted to have him back working with the Ludus team.

Harry is a talented York City Academy player who has returned to sessions over the summer with one clear aim — to get sharp and ready to hit the ground running for the new academy season.

Our 2-to-1 sessions give Harry the perfect balance. Plenty of detailed technical work to keep developing his individual game, combined with competitive duels and opposed practices against his brother — something they both absolutely love!

For a player already operating at academy level, it’s about challenging the finer details, keeping standards high and making sure he’s ready for whatever the new season brings.

Great to have you back, Harry. Keep working, keep competing and most importantly, keep enjoying it. 🔥⚽

Welcome to Ludus Football Group, Matthew! 🧡💙

We’re delighted to welcome Matthew to the Ludus coaching programme.

A central midfielder for Poppleton Tigers U13s, Matthew is a strong, powerful player with an excellent all-round game. He has great balance, a fantastic range of passing and the ability to drive his team forward, while also having the quality to finish when opportunities arise.

This summer, we’ve been working closely with Matthew to improve his ability to play at a higher intensity in tighter areas as his team prepares to make the step up into a more competitive league.

He’s embraced every challenge that’s been put in front of him and has shown a real willingness to develop and improve.

The foundations are already there. Now it’s about adding more detail to his game, increasing the tempo and helping him become an even more complete midfielder.

We’re excited to continue working with Matthew and can’t wait to see his hard work transfer onto the pitch this season.

LUDUS ALL STARS ⭐

The next step for Ludus.

We’re creating a new representative opportunity for talented boys and girls to compete against Schoolboys, Schoolgirls, academies and other high-level opposition.

This isn’t another team to join.

Players will be selected, brought together and given the opportunity to represent Ludus.

Selection is earned.

The work has already started behind the scenes, with plans for our first fixture and first squad already underway.

Welcome to Ludus Football Group, Cree! 🧡💙

This one means a little bit more to Head Coach Ryan.

Having first worked with Cree during his time at York City Academy, Ryan has always believed there is a seriously talented footballer there. Now part of York Schoolboys, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to work closely with him again and help him take that next step.

Cree has so much natural ability. Technically gifted, capable of playing forward and breaking lines, and on his day able to produce moments of real quality.

For us, the challenge isn’t about finding the talent — it’s about helping Cree believe in it, trust it and show it more consistently.

Ryan absolutely loves coaching Cree because he knows what he’s capable of. There will be challenges along the way, but that’s exactly what development is about. We’ll push him, demand more from him and give him the freedom to make mistakes, learn and become the player we believe he can be.

Sometimes a player just needs someone in their corner who genuinely believes in them.

We’ve got you, Cree. Now let’s show everyone how good you can be. 💙🧡🔥

Welcome to Ludus Football Group, Lennon! 🧡💙

We’re delighted to welcome one of our younger players, Lennon, to the Ludus coaching programme.

Representing Rawcliffe Blacks U8s, Lennon has been working hard on developing his 1v1 ability, adding twists, turns and skills to become more confident when taking players on.

One thing that’s clear already is that he’s got a wand of a left foot. He’s been delighting his coaches with some brilliant top-bin finishes, and you can see just how much he loves scoring goals. Now, we’re building on that by developing his right foot and adding more variety to his finishing, including those composed bottom-corner finishes.

Lennon brings fantastic energy, enthusiasm and a real love for the game to every session. In a short space of time, he’s already made the improvements we’ve been looking for, and that’s all down to his willingness to listen, learn and keep trying.

We’re excited to continue helping Lennon build his foundations and watch his game develop over the months ahead.
