One of those moments I won’t forget…
Of everything that happened at Cadwell Park this weekend, I think my favourite moment had absolutely nothing to do with us racing.
Thomas had never been to a BSB event before.
He’s raced Cadwell himself, he’s ridden over the Mountain plenty of times, but he’d never actually seen a British Superbike come over it in anger.
Then Ryan Vickers came through.
I was watching Thomas rather than the bike, and as Vickers launched over the Mountain, the look on Thomas’s face was absolutely priceless. ❤️❤️❤️
The only way I can describe it is like a little kid seeing Father Christmas for the first time.
Just complete amazement.
His eyes lit up and for a few seconds he wasn’t Thomas the racer, thinking about lines, braking points, lap times or what he could learn…
He was just a 14-year-old lad who absolutely bloody loves motorbikes. ❤️
And I loved seeing it.
We spend so many weekends rushing around paddocks, fixing bikes, worrying about results, chasing lap times and getting ready for the next session that sometimes you forget why we started doing all this in the first place.
Because we love bikes.
And watching his face when that Superbike flew over the Mountain reminded me of that.
I reckon Thomas has now got a whole new idea of how you’re supposed to go over the Mountain. 😂🏍️💨
Definitely one of those little moments from a race weekend that I’ll remember for a long time. ❤️
