🏁 MEDD RACING – CADWELL PARK RACE REPORT 🏁
Saturday | NoraSport | Ohvale GP2 190
What a day! If anything could go wrong, it pretty much did, but Thomas certainly didn't make life easy for himself either! 😂
QUALIFYING – P2 OVERALL | P1 IN CLASS
With NoraSport there's no practice, so Thomas went straight into qualifying on the Ohvale GP2 190.
Almost immediately we had problems with the clutch slipping badly. It was so bad we could actually hear it from the sidelines!
Despite this, Thomas somehow managed to qualify 2nd overall and 1st in class, up against all the Superminis.
RACE 1 – P17 OVERALL | P2 IN CLASS
We worked flat out trying to fix the clutch but unfortunately missed getting the Ohvale ready by just a matter of minutes.
Thankfully, Tommy Almond came to the rescue and lent Thomas his 140cc pitbike, a bike Thomas had never ridden before!
The difference in speed was massive. Starting from second on the grid, Thomas was already down to around 15th by the first corner.
Despite being on an unfamiliar bike in wet conditions, Thomas rode brilliantly and finished 17th out of 36 riders.
Even more impressively, his lap times were quick enough to make him the fastest Pitbike 140 rider if he had been in the pitbike class , and he was 1.2 seconds quicker than his uncle managed on the same bike in the following session! 😂
RACE 2 – P10 OVERALL | P1 IN CLASS
With the Ohvale finally fixed, Thomas started from 17th on the grid.
Within just three laps he'd fought his way up to 4th overall and was absolutely flying!
Unfortunately, three bikes were involved in a big crash, leaving oil across the circuit. Thomas hit the oil and suffered a nasty highside just before the red flag came out.
The bike was bent, the fairings were smashed, and we thought that might be the end of his day.
But Uncle Trick worked his magic and managed to get the Ohvale back together for the restart!
Unfortunately, the race restarted while Thomas was still in the paddock. By the time he got onto the circuit, the rest of the field was already heading into the first corner, leaving him over half a lap behind the last rider!
Somehow, Thomas fought his way back through to 10th overall, taking another 1st in class.
An unbelievable recovery ride!
RACE 3 – P12 OVERALL | P1 IN CLASS
Surely we'd have one straightforward race to finish the day?
Not a chance! 😂
When we arrived at the holding area, NoraSport had no record of Thomas finishing the restarted second race, despite us being able to prove he'd completed it.
As a result, he was made to start 36th and last on the grid.
Once again, Thomas had it all to do.
He got his head down and put in another fantastic ride, carving his way through the field from 36th to 12th overall, taking his second class win of the day.

Two class wins and a second place!
Considering the clutch problems, borrowing a bike he'd never ridden, a highside, a smashed-up Ohvale, a missed restart and being sent to the back of the grid, we couldn't be happier with how Thomas rode.
His pace was fantastic all day, but more importantly, he never gave up, no matter what was thrown at him.
A massive thank you to Tommt for lending Thomas his pitbike and Uncle Trick Michael Medd for getting the Ohvale back together when it looked like our day was over.
