Our Chairman and Treasurer have just returned from a fabulous week of sailing. We chartered the Countess of Sleat, an Elan 434 from Craobh Haven and were skipper and first mate with a crew of 5 others who we met through the YCTC.
We sailed to Crinan where we went through the sea lock and moored in the Crinan basin, then on to Gigha, back to Craobh Haven to drop off 2 crew members. The 5 of us then continued on to Lochaline, Tobermory and Oban before returning to Craobh Haven.
Weather and sea conditions varied from benign to Force 6, with some very confused sea down the sound of Luing where we were sat still at one point! Lots of Marine wildlife was spotted including porpoises, dolphins and a sea eagle!!
Much fun, great food, good company and many many oysters!

16 of us, who met through the YCTC have just completed a Flotilla holiday which we organised independently of the club.
We chartered 3 yachts and spent a very pleasant week in the Firth of Clyde, visiting Lamlash, Campbelltown, Lochranza, Tarbert, Rothesay, Holy Loch and Largs.
We had a wonderful time with weather conditions varying from flat calm to a sporty force 6-7 with gusts as much as 35 knots!
Our crews were made up from people of all levels of experience, from Yachtmaster offshore to first time on a yacht.
We'll definitely be organising more of these over the coming years.
