Situated in a heathland and woodland setting just one mile from the centre of the historic city of York, Fulford Golf Club remains one of the best inland golf courses in Britain. Twenty three consecutive European Tour events in the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s firmly put Fulford on the global golfing map, and the list of winners at Fulford includes an array of Ryder Cup Players & Captains and many Major

The opening hole at Fulford is an attractive, confidence-building par four. Straightforward if you avoid the out of bounds and the bunkers up the left. Favour the right from the tee to open up a large, inviting green. It is a great chance to start with a three.

"The hardest hole on the card is the 13th and this could easily be the club's signature hole. It features out of bounds left, fairway bunkering and a sloping green so, if you can make a par at the nearly 500-yarder, you will have excelled.

This is called Weiskopf after the American holed a 1-iron for an eagle two – he’d already birdied the hole twice that week."

The first par five, and a long one, where a good straight drive is essential. Long hitters have the choice of carrying the far bunkers off the tee. Most players will aim for the narrow gap or will play short of the bunkers for safety.
